I'm pretty handy. How do I find the lid switch in my washer? I have removed the front panel of the machine. I have pulled the washer out from the drier/washer stack. It looks like I might have to remove two hex screws in the front corners and lift the washer top to find the lid switch near the back, behind the tub. Is this right? Thanks very much.
Answer Charlie, I think you're working on a LSG7804AAE, the lid switch assembly is located in the right rear corner of the top. You'll need to slide the washer out from under the dryer assembly, and unplug the umbilical cord. Remove the front panel, and remove the 3/8 " bolt holding the top to the cabinet in the right front corner. On the right rear top corner, inside the large hole you'll see the 3/8 " bolt holding the rear corner to the cabinet, remove it. raise the top of the washer(from right to left/sideways). You will need to remove the 2 scews on the top, holding the switch assembly to the top, and slip the holding tab out of the slot, and drop the asembly out and down. reverse the procedure and tetst the washer operation. Good Luck.
