My gas dryer has heat, the drum turns normally, there is hot air in the dryer when it runs. I have pulled the lint shoot, the filter and cleaned them both well. My problem is that we are getting poor drying performance! Is there something else that I should clean? The only thing that makes sense to me is that we are not getting enough air flow. What would you recommend that I do or clean next. Thanks

I have Whirlpool Electric Dryer 29". I cleaned out my lint chute with one of those long vacuum hose things. Now my timer doesn't work , dryer dries but does not shut off. Coincidence? Or did I do something wrong?

The lint trap will not go in all the way. This happened following a household move. I suspect something is in the channels of the lint chute or chute is crimped. My question is how do I take out the chute to inspect/replace it?

My whirlpool dryer quit heating. I found that the 305 degree thermal cutoff had opened. I replaced the thermal cutoff and the 250 deg high limit thermostat and the dryer will heat but seems to over heat. I measured the temp at the top of the heating element and it was 170 deg and increasing. Shouldn't the operating thermostat cut off at 155 deg? Should I replace the operating thermostat or is this some other problem?

I pulled out the lint catcher to clean and it won't go back in. It seems that there is what looks like a gold plunger that is in the left track of the shute about 4 inches down. Do you have any idea what this is? The parts pictures don't show any kind of an interlock. I hate to try to pry it unless I know More. Thanks in advance
