the convection oven touch sensor wont work, every thing else works.
Answer Floyd, We're not quite clear what you mean by " convection oven touch sensor" If you mean the keypad or button for the convection cycle, you would want to consider a new keypad / membrane assembly 53001135 as the most likely issue, based on your post. Good Luck and Thanks
Hello, My microwave is heating but the side panel sparkles as long as the microwave is running. I called somebody and they said it is a magnetron problem. Could there be something else? If it is magnetron, how easy or difficult is it to fix it?
This is a magnetron 8184652 issue. When the unit is run without a load to absorb the microwaves or the unit is run with a metallic item inside the unit, the microwaves are reflected back into the magnetron and burns up the magnetron tube. You should not run the unit in this condition as it may cause more damage which may very possibly be unrepairable.
The difficulty is not too bad. Remember that it is a two man job to remove and reinstall the microwave if it is mounted over the range. Also use several towels to protect the range top, especially if it is a glass top unit. The only thing you have to worry about is discharging the high voltage capacitor. Unplug the unit and, using a screwdriver with a wooden or electrically rated handle, contact the unit frame first and slide it into the capacitor terminals, one at a time. Most modern microwaves have a built-in circuit for capacitor discharge, but as soon as you depend on this fact, you will be working on one of the units that isn't equipped with such and before you know it,it's time for a road trip to the hospital. Be careful and wear gloves.
