Hi. The top washer arm does not spin on our dishwasher. I have clean it well...a lot of hard water deposits..., but no luck. Everything works well otherwise. Any ideas? Thank you.
You will want to check the docking station where the middle spray arm goes into the manifold and make sure that the flappers are in place properly. If the middle spray arm gets water but the upper is not then this is the most likely cause, that the flapper may be damaged or not in position. The other thing if both middle and upper spray arm get no water then the issue would most likely be the discharge housing.
food sticks on water glasses located on top left rack cleaned all moving parts. water valve is wide open, switch to a liqued soap still no help. Do you have any other ideas ? thanks much for your help
Answer Freddy, The first place to start, is the water level and water temperature in the bottom of the tub, on the first fill of a wash cycle. Remove the lower rack. Start the dishwasher in any cycle, allow the unit to fill and wash for 3 to 5 minutes. Unlatch the door and wait a few seconds to open it. The water level in the bottom should cover the lower portion of the heating element(at the least), and shouild have a temperature of 120 dgrs.F minimum. If either conditions are low, you will not recieve a proper wash action in the dishwasher, during the cycle. Also check for "foaming", in recent times some of the dishwasher chemicals have had a tendency to "foam up" due to a reaction between the rinse agent and certain types of liquid detergents, you may want to return to using a "plain" (no additives) powderred detergent.
