I already replaced water inlet valve now ice maker will just fill up and do nothing. It has ice max. Can I just replace front part or have replace whole ice maker?
Answer Hello Monty. You do not have to replace the front part, but will need to order and replace the icemaker 4317943 in the unit. You can remove the Max Ice and install onto the new icemaker.
I think this may be the same issue I have seen but on the third picture of the max ice where the lip that goes under the ice mold it fills with water and then leaks into the tub. I took the ice maker out, cleaned it up. Put it back in. I watched it fill the mold and did not see anything leak at the time. I heard the first set of ice drop into the tub and went back to check and it has started to fill and drip frozen into the tub. Do you think that is the inlet valve as well? I didn't notice any water leaking from the fill tube in the back. I was not sure if it is that or if I need to replace the ice maker itself.
Answer Aaron, You're on the right track, Check and make sure, the refrigerator is level, or slightly higher in the front. Make sure the ice maker is mounted level in the freezer compartment. If all's OK, and you're sure you have at least 32 PSI water pressure at the fill valve connection, then replace the fill valve W10408179. You may be aware, but the Max Ice assembly, is merely a "blower" it circulates air over and under the ice maker to increase ice production, it has no water associated components, just make sure it is either set for "normal" or "Ice Plus", and not inbetween.
What is purpose of the max ice device?
Answer Hello Thaddeus. The max-ice 2255794 has a fan motor that is used to cause the ice to freeze faster and make the cycle process of ice production faster.
