Answer Jan, Yes, it's a project most DIY'rs can do. You do have to be extremely careful once you have access to the control compartment, there are several high voltage components, that you Don't want to touch, even though you have unplugged the power cord. Here's some basic help : " 1.Disconnect the electrical power to the microwave oven. 2.Remove the two outer screws from the top of the cabinet. 3.Pull the top of the air grille forward, lift the bottom tabs from the slots, and remove the grille from the microwave oven.4.Open the microwave oven door.5.Remove the screw from the top of the control panel and pull the top forward. 6.Disconnect the 2- and 11-pin connectors
from the control board and remove the control panel assembly. 7.Place your fingertips under the ends of the ribbon cable connector locking rail and lift the rail, then pull the end of the ribbon cable out of the connector. 8.Remove the green ground wire screw from the control panel. 9.Remove the two screws from the transformer bracket. 10.Press the locking tab and unlock it from the end of the control board, then pull the other end of the board out of the holder slots, and remove the board.". Thanks and Good Luck
