I have a KitchenAid gas slide-in range and the oven keeps turning off. Sometimes it will stay on but most of the time you have to keep trying to get it to stay on.
Answer Hello Edward,
As long as the gas pressure is sufficient, (5" for natural gas and 10" for L.P.) you probably have an ignitor 9782065 failing since they will sometimes fail slowly as the resistance in the ignitor gradually increases with electrical and thermal stress.
How to install this part ?
Answer Hi Debbie. Remove the power. Remove the door. Remove the end caps and knobs. Remove the valve sw. seals. Remove any surrounding screw that will hold the control panel on. Look above the door opening. Lift up on the console assy. and unhook any electrical cables after noting positions of them. Take a cell picture if needed. Once you get to the actual clock, you need to write down the electrical connections before unhooking them. Discharge yourself to bare metal ground for static so it does not go into the new board. Do not touch the board except on the corners. It should be screw or bolt mounted on the back of the console. Part # 9782435. Thank You.
