My freezer seem to contiuning run all the time with shutting down. The coils were cleaned. Couid this be a thermistor problem?
Answer Hello Calvin. If the coils are clean and the fan motor is running, it could be the thermistor. You will want to check the thermistors of the unit as this may be a bad thermistor 2188819. You can test the thermistors by removing from unit and letting them warm to room temp. At 77 degrees the resistance should be 2.7K ohms. If the thermistors are not reading the proper resistance then they are defective. If the thermistors check ok then the control 8201527 is faulty and would need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
