The dryers glow light lights up and the flame starts but goes out in 15 seconds. The clothes are still wet and the dryer does not heat up.

Model WED9050XW Whirlpool dryer. The lint screen was pulled out and got a small tear then it wouldn't slide back down all the way in place. There is something silver in appearance laying front to back in the opening several inches down. Could this be the moisture sensor bar? Our son has special needs so his caregivers have been operating the dryer and I'm relaying information provided to me.
