Our Kenmore dryer is not working properly. You can set it on normal dry (cotton) and the timer sets itself for 40 minutes.(we only use time-dry not sensor-dry) After it runs for 5-10 minutes the timer resets itself. Some times the time goes up (like to 60 or more minutes) sometimes it goes down (to like 10 or 15 minutes) Then the dryer seems to run forever-time stays the same on the display or creeps up or down intermittingly. We just have to keep opening the door to check the clothes- Sometimes takes an hour or two to get them dry. I have removed/cleaned the vent duct, even took the back off of the unit and vacuumed it all out. The heating element is good-the dryer is producing heat. Could this maybe be a thermostat going bad?

I believe that I need to replace the moisture sensor bar. The video was very helpful. Do I need to order 2 sensor bars? Thank you, Christopher

Dryer performs reasonably well until it gets to a certain part of the cycle, then the timer seems to stick. I wondered if this was the moisture sensor, but perhaps timer or motherboard? I look forward to your answer. David

Dryer usually stops a few minutes after running on moisture sensor cycle but runs to completion on timed cycle.. Removed the exhaust port and found no clog. Can the moisture sensor bar or dryness control board be defective?

I was putting my Maytag (MDE9606AZW) dryer back together and discovered that one of the connections from the moisture sensor bars had come loose. This part has 4 connections points. It has 2 connections on each end, 4 in total. The blue wire was still in place. The green was not. I would guess it was the ground wire. What I need to know where the wire goes on moisture sensor (where to connect).
