My Repair & Advice
I had watched some videos on youtube to understand how to disassemble & gain access to the various washer components & their location. Very easy. I had first replaced the wax motor, but that was not the problem.
I reviewed the diagnostic procedures that were present near the control board, followed the directions to remove the main plug from the motor control board, which should allow the washer to spin at 50 rpm. No spin, & upon closer inspection, I observed that one of the phase drive circuits was smoked. I was going to just change out the components, or replace the motor control board, but after further investigation, the only thing available was an upgrade replacement kit, which included a new motor, motor control board, & wiring harness.
I ordered the kit, & replaced all of the items per instructions. It was pretty easy, & took me about 1 hour to complete. I probably spent more time maneuvering the washer to gain access to both the front & back as my laundry room space is kind of tight.
The customer service team at AppliancePartsPros was excellent. Definitely a very positive experience. With all of the negative comments about this series washer, I can say that I had 13 1/2 years of good service out of the machine, & will probably plan on using it for another 5+ or longer....
