Our washer fills up but will not work or pump the water. I removed the pump and I can spin the motor by hand. When turned on I can hear a humming noise. Timer was replaced about 18 months ago. I thank You in advance for Your help.
Answer Hello Tom. If the lid switch is good, then you need to check and see if the motor is bad or the timer. The motor is a 2 direction motor. If the timer is powering both legs, then you need to replace the timer. If just one leg is powered, but the motor hums, you will need to replace the motor. Use the wiring diagram in the control panel to test this. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
