my model number is for the washer ,kenmore. my problem is,i belive the motor. washer fills but no drain ,no agatate,no wash. motor hums like its trying. i remove the water pump from one side of motor, then i jumpered the lid switch and pluged the machine in,then set to spin cycle, motor again hums,i reach down and helped the shaft to spin on motor. it takes off like normal. motor seems good.just needs a boost to start? why is this. motor seems good.
Answer Jim, Check for 120 VAC across the yellow and black wire on the motor, while it's humming. at the yellow Improper volyage would indicate a faulty timer 8539991 or low voltage at the outlet. If the voltage is correct, then you'd have a bad motor winding 8529935. Thanks
My kenmore series 80 washer is leaving my clothes very wet after spin cycle. What could cause this?
Answer Hello Mark. If the clutch is bad on the unit and is not getting to a full spin, it will cause the issue you are having. Also, a bad motor coupling or pump can be the issue.
