Dryer runs for a while lets say 5 min, then if you stop it and try to restart all it does is buzz. I also get an odor like something is hot. If I let it cool down I can restart.
Answer Hello Larry, You have a bad motor. If it gets hot and won't start, and when it cools down, will start as you have described, you will need to replace the motor. Hope this helps.

The parts list shows 2 different motors which one is actually for my dryer. I know I need a new motor but don't know which one to order :
model mdg7500awq serial 37685339zf thanks
Answer Dennis, Based on the model and serial number you supplied, the drive motor needed for your dryer is W10410997 / W10410997. Also consider a new belt 33002535 and cleaning and lubricating the drum rollers and shafts, Idler pulley and shaft, and the front drum glides(silicone grease) and high speed turbine oil. It should help keep your dryer running for quite awhile.
