Trying to replace motor gasket, but it won't seat. The gasket keeps popping up when I try to press it in place?
Dave for Model Number 6651576580
Answer Hello Dave. You will need to install the gasket 717000 onto the pump housing first. Then install the pump housing into the main tub. You may need to use a light coat of cooking oil to help you install the gasket. Hope this helps.
How involved is replacing this part? I have water leaking from the tub on top of the motor. I am pretty mechanically minded - but I would rather look at a new machine if this is a full day project. Are there instructions on how to install this part?
Scott T. for Model Number KUDI24SEAL1 Kitchen Aid
Answer Hi Scott. Remove power. This may take up to a couple of hours. But it is really a remove, clean and reassemble Issue. First remove the rack end clips. Remove the racks. Then remove the water manifold. Gather 1-dozen towels or a wet vac. Take off the lower kick plate. Unhook all electrical components connected to the tub. Remove the pump motor off the side of the sump. Remove the drain hose. Lift the sump assembly from the top of the tub . Then clean the tub. Reinstall the sump squarely but firmly. Then clean and hook up all devices taken apart to reconnect. Best of luck. Thank you.
Dishwasher fills with water and drains, but the upper and lower arms will not move, and no water comes out of them.
