My Dishwasher used to be very quiet. Now it makes a loud whine whenever it is washing and draining. The washer works just fine but it is loud. My question is would the Motor/pump Housing Assembly - Item Number: AP4365227 fix my problem?

Is there an easy way to verify that the existing motor is bad? I would imagine an ohms test across the correct two terminals on the motor would verify. Can you tell me which terminals to check. Also, if replacement is needed, anything special to be aware of? I have never replaced one of these before. Step by step directions anywhere?

Thank you for your response. I believe I need to purchase a new dishwasher since this is getting too complex. I have a multimeter and there a momentary spurt of voltage when the motor tries to start. Since the motor does not run, I cannot tell any voltage drops since the voltge spurt is momentary. Since I replaced the motor and pump assembly there are no obstructions and the water fills properly. It is at the start of the wash cycle that the motor tries to start. I ran the function test that is described in the wiring schematic under the kick plate on the washer. It showed a Motor - Low current fault. I do not know how to check the low current at the motor. There are no leaks of detergent and all connections seem to be clean and tight. Thank you for your help, my wife is now making me do the dishes.

I found the wiring diagram in a plastic bag behind the insulation, thanx. The diagram had a function test. Running the test indicated a fault in the motor - low current circuit. Cannot tell what that is and where to track the fault. Please help, again.

I installed a new motor and pump assembly Part number AP4365241 as it seemed the old motor was not working. As with the old motor assembly, the dishwasher fills with water but when the wash cycle is to start, I hear a faint noise like the motor is getting power but nothing happens. I pressed all buttons on the display and get no response. The Off/drain button turns the system off and on but no motor action. How can I trace the problem?
