How do you test a motor pump with a ohm meter?
Answer Hello Mike. I always test for power to the pump. If it is there, during a cycle, and the pump does not run, the pump is bad.
The motor starts when I turn on the dishwasher, but no water. Is that the inlet valve or pump motor?
Answer Hello Bill,
If the door switch is making and voltage is getting to the water valve, the valve W10327250 will need to be replaced. If nothing is holding the flood switch float up inside the tub, you will need to trace the voltage to see where it is being dropped if it is not getting to the valve.
The motor runs when I start it, but no water coming in to fill.
Is it the water inlet valve assembly or motor pump?
Answer Hello Bill. Check the float assembly and see if it is stuck in the unit. If not, then it could be the water valve bad on the unit. If there is power to it and no water, it is bad. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
