My whirlpool washer will agitate and fill....but will not spin or drain....have checked continuity in the lid switch....is it the motor or what?

Answer Hello Mark. Check and make sure the lid switch is working properly and make sure the strike on the lid is pressing the switch. If all of that is good, you will need to test for power to the motor. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
My washer fills with water then when time to agitate their is a buzzing noise then shuts off. after about a few seconds clicks back on then buzzes again then shuts off. What could be wrong?

Answer Hello Ramiro,
You will want to check to make sure that the pump does not have something clogged in it. You can test by removing the clips from the pump and try to start unit. If the unit continues to do the same then the most likely cause would be the start switch. If it starts normally then it is a clogged or bad pump.
