My dryer tries to start however after holding the start button for a few seconds you will hear a clicking noise then it shuts off. About 2 minutes later I hear a clicking noise again. I push the start button and again the same process happens. What could be the issue?

My Kenmore dryer starts and stops numerous times before it will run a full drying cycle. Each time it turns off you have to restart it and many times it will stop immediately or after a short period of time. Once it decides to run it dries well. Any ideas on what might cause this? Thanks.

Latest Questions

Just like in the previous question, I too removed my motor start relay, part# 337851. When I removed the two screws the switch immediatly seperated into two pieces and the fell out. I removed the switch because my dryer would not start. When pressing the start switch on console there was a loud buzzing sound like the sound of an ac motor with voltage applied, but unable to start. The motor itself checkout ok with an ohmmeter, suggesting the brushes are probably still good and I can turn it freely by hand. Would you agree that the motor start relay may be bad (it is now since I can't figure out how to get it back together). Thanks.
