I have an ice maker in my refrigerator. It makes ice but will not dispense ice out of the door. When i push the button, i can hear the door open but the motor never turns to push the ice out. How can i test to see if the motor is any good. Or would this be the only logical part to replace?
Answer Hello Benny.
The Auger motor is part # W10225313. The blue wire goes to the # 7 terminal and the gray with red wire goes to the # 1 terminal. You can also look carefully at the old motor at the side of... more the motor terminals to see which 2 of them were used to guide you. Thank You.
Note: This question is for the older version of this part, but we thought you might still find it helpful
I took Ice maker auger motor out of Ice bin, will the motor turn freely if it is good or will it freeze up if not?
Answer Tim, It can turn freely and still be bad, If it is seized an won't turn, then it's obviously a problem. What seems to be wrong. Another test for the motor, hook a 120 VAC test cord to the motor terminals, and plug the cord into an outlet, the motor should run, unless it's bad. Thanks and Good Luck.
