My ice maker is making ice but doesn't dispense it.you hit the switch and you don't hear anything. I removed the ice from the tray and the shaft doesn't move. What could be the problem the motor or the switch to the motor?

Answer Hello Rich,
The shaft of the ice dispenser will not move unless the motor is activated. You will want to pull the front cover off the dispenser to check the switch to make sure that the pins holding the switch in place are not broken. To access this you will remove drip tray, and using a flat blade screwdriver, place under the bottom of the trim and pop out. Once off check the bracket where switches are to make sure that it is not damaged and make sure that when you hit the dispenser that the lever makes good contact with switch. If not replace bracket W10206221. If this checks ok then your dispenser motor W10271506 is most likely the problem.
