I have an ice dispenser auger motor that I took out of my Kitchenaid refrigerator, the motor is model no. 2252130. It's a compact reversible DC Gear Motor manufactured by Molon Motor and Coil, their model ESKI. I have opened it up and found the motor works fine and power is getting to the pins from a small circuit board at the harness connection. The issue has to be with the circuit board not supplying power to the motor. Can I purchase the circuit board only from anywhere? Thanks!

hi. I got the auger motor for this KitchenAid (Whirlpool) ice maker. While I suspect the old motor works, the wire harness pins that connect to the motor are so badly corroded that there is no voltage going to the motor. This is all a result of freezing and I think a bad connection of the pin supplying the voltage when the thing was made. On the motor those pins cannot be replaced which is why I had to get the whole motor. The wires from the harness are terminated into a block (connector) and those terminals are also virtually gone. You can replace the terminals on the wires and these will mount into the connector block of the harness. But it seems impossible to find these terminators. They are quite small, and sort of square unlike widely available spade type terminators. Any idea where I can get these terminators, or even what the technical term for them is?

This is a duplicate question already asked, but I have the same exact problem and am unable to remove the motor. All the manuals show that there is plenty of room to drop the motor, but on my specific model there is not. Really strange that it would have been built this way, but I am afraid the wires will get pinched/broken because there does not appear to be enough clearance between the motor and the cavity wall. I have a great photo and would love to send it to you to show you what I am talking about. "The ice cube dispenser motor became wet when there was a power outage and is now frozen, I can thaw it with a hair dryer but it freezes again. I cant get the motor clear of the wire to get it out. Can the grommet holding the wire in the door be pryed out? What's the procedure to removing the motor? " Previous Answer: Hello Henry. No, but with the wiring harness unplugged from the motor, you can remove the motor from the unit. You just will have to work with the motor and the harness to remove it.
