Latest Questions

Hello, Cycles are normal and the washer does as its suppose too....except when the water is all drained out and then it starts to spin.....as it builds up faster and faster you start to hear a winding noise and then eventually a loud knock like something is being hit as it spins around? But, what is odd is that if I hold the auger/agitator while it starts to spin then the noise goes away totally? And as I hold it (agitator/auger) still the clothes will spin all the water off as normal and finish the wash? What could it be.....motor works fine....checked the dog ears in auger.....??? Clutch or transmission ? Or what do you think......and if I get the part from you can I exchange as needed? Thanks!

Ken, It's most likely a timer issue [Hello, my washer started acting up about a week ago. I filled it with water starting a wash cycle and when the water was full the washer started buzzing with a electrical burning smell and nothing was happening. I messed with the timer and cycles but no go. I unplugged a few times and nothing. I came back a few hours later and it started working again but now I am having the same issue again. I emptied it out, took off the timer panel and leaned it back to see if I can tell where the burning smell is coming from but I am not sure. I read on line that it could be the motor coupling but it looks ok.. a little oily though from transmission. I turned the coupling to see if the motor was frozen but it was not. I turned on the washer and it start running again. I turned it off and one many times and it started running. When I flipped it back over to see if it will run I turned it on and it buzzed again. After messing with it for about an hour I was able to figure out if I turn the coupling it starts. I was thinking it might be the capacitor not giving enough voltage to start the motor or it could be the transmission as it turns freely one direction but seems to get a lot of resistance in the other and it has an oil leak. I didn't think it was the motor as it is strong when running. I seem to have a few things that can be wrong but I am not sure what it is. Can you help? Thanks Ken

Have a series 90 heavy duty direct drive washer. Replaced bad coupler and started smelling burning rubber or plastic. Ran load smell continued. Removed coupler purchased new ones and replaced them. They were difficult to remove and required hard tapping before they would sit flush on motor shaft. I noticed motor shaft has slight front to back play. Not sure if I caused that? After checking clutch which look very good and tight I put it back together and again smell burning and now noises that sounded like loose screws were banging around. Also, after putting back motor to coupler it was pretty hard to turn shaft to line up the pump. Coupler was turning okay. The machine ran once and now it only makes a electrical noise. Is this a bad motor or Transmission? Need Help.
