My dish washer sounds like its making all the right noises ,except all the swooshing, the dishes are not coming clean and when I open the door(very quickly)it seems the water is coming out of the "nozzle jump up" and NOT the spray arm ....can you help ?? any thoughts as to what could be causing this ??

Answer Jim, sounds like your not getting enough water into the dishwasher. Try this, Start the dishwasher, let it fill with water, there should be a short pause between the end of the fill cycle and when the motor starts the wash cycle, if no pause let the unit fill and run for 5 minutes. When you unlatch the door and wait a few seconds, when you open the door check the water level in the bottom of the tub, it should partially submerge the heating element, if you have the proper amount of water in the unit. If the water level is low, check or replace the fill valve,99001359 Good Luck and Thanks

How do I remove the "NOZZLE JUMP UP" part number AP4113054 Thanks Dennis
Dennis L. for Model Number mdb5100awb
Answer Hello Dennis. You will need to remove the lower spray arm to remove this part. It lifts out of the sump assembly. Here are the manufacture instructions. Hope this helps.
Lower Wash Arm
Water is supplied to the Lower Wash Arm via the Pump Assembly.
Removal
1. Disconnect power to the machine.
2. Remove lower Rack Assembly.
3. Loosen Wash Arm Hub and Pivot.
4. Lift Wash Arm out of Dishwasher.
5. Lift out the Nozzle Jump Up.

The dishes on the top rack are not getting clean or rinsing very well, even the soap dispenser does not get all the soap rinsed out of it. My husband removed the lower arm and the wash arm cap is broken. Could this be the problem.

Answer Mary, is this the "cap" you're referring to ? Yes, it could be part of your issue. You also want to check and make sure the water temperature is at least 120 Dgrs. F. in the tub on the first fill, and the water level after 5 minutes of the main wash cycle, should be in contact with the bottom of the heater element. Thanks and Good
