How tight do you tighten the top nut on the tub
Answer Everett, Once you're sure the tub is centered and seated on the mounting stem, Tighten the clamping nut, by hand using the spanner wrench as tight as possible. Use a hammer and add 1/8 turn by tapping on the wrench handle very carefully(don't hit the tub, you may chip the porcelain) 3 or 4 taps usually does it.
After I have removed the agitator, is there anything I have to remove before the nut clamp and do you remove the nut clamp clockwise?
Answer Hello Tim,
I could send a copy of the service manual to your e-mail address but since none is listed, the clamping nut is a left handed thread. Be sure not to hit the tub and crack the enamel. There is nothing between the clamp nut and the agitator.
How can I remove the nut - clamp with out a spanner wrench?
Answer Hello Tiffany. You can remove the nut 6-2110472 with a straight screwdriver and a hammer, but be careful and don't damage the washer. Spanner is the best way to remove them safely. Hope this helps.
