I have a magic chef model 344xra that I want to convert from natural gas to lp gas. Do I need new parts or is it just an adjustment? If so what would the adjustments?
Thank you in advance.
Answer Hello Richard. This model is adjustable. Tighten the orifices all the way down, then come back up 1½ rounds. Then flip the regulator from LP to natural gas. Check the flames and adjust if needed.
my girl friend bought me a used gas stove its a magic chef and it used lp i have natural gas so do i have to buy all new orifices for it and how can i convert it to natural gas
Answer Michael, You do not need any parts, Your range is convertable on the range. You will need to unplug the power cord or turn power off to the range, also shut off the gas supply at the wall. In your case, it's a matter of turning "ALL" the burner orifices "out" / counterclockwise 1 1/2 to 2 complete turns Adjust the air shutter on all the burners to a 3/4 open position and fine tune from there. You'll need to "flip" the regulator cap back to the NAT Gas setting. All the work can be performed using basic hand tools: small crescent wrench for the regulator cap, 1/2 in. open end wrench for the bake and broil orifice adjustments, and a 1/2 in. deep set socket for adjusting the top burner orifices. Thanks and Good Luck
