The machine washes strong. In between cycles it gives me a SE code and shuts down. I pulled the drain hose under the sink and just got a trickle in a bucket when I hit the manual drain cycle. I can hear the motor running very quietly.
Answer Hello James,
Since the model number you listed did not come up, I am using MDB7851AWS10 as an example to diagnose your unit. It has the same pump and motor setup so this should pertain. If you dis-assemble and find the plate from the bottom of the Outlet loose, this adversely affects the operation of the pump. This plate has to be affixed to the bottom of the Outlet and adds to the pressure of the impellers' rotation. While the unit is apart, make sure there is nothing inside the impeller. Clear plastic such as the kind used to wrap individually wrapped cheese is commonly found in the pump at some point. You also should check the hoses and filters for any debris and blockages. If you can locate the units' I.D. tag and provide the model number, we will be able to assist more in the units' diagnosis. One common cause of the 5E Error is a pinched drain line behind the dishwasher.
I THINK I LOST PART ON UNDERSIDE OF PUMP HOUSING. I HAVE THREE SCFEWS THAT FIT. WASHER WILL NOT PUMP WATER.
THE WHITE PART THAT SCREWS ON THE END OF MOTOR SHAFCT AND TURNS THE IMPELLER IS STRIPPED AND MACHINE WILL NOT PUMP WATER. I FIXERD TEMP BUT IT WONT LAST. CAN I BUY JUST THAT PART OR MUST I BUY $70 SEAL KIT? SEAL DOES NOT NEED REPLACING
Answer Dave, Yes, you will need to,and want to, order the complete seal kit 6-919539 several of the components have been revised and modified since the original version. It's the only way to get all the parts you'll need and it's the best and safest way to go. What part on the bottom of the pump, do you think you lost ? The three screws you mentioned could be the screws that attach the pressure plate to the inside of the outlet. Thanks and Good Luck
