I changed out my actuator pad and the limit switch on my jenn air refrigerator. The water and ice controls were shutting off when you released the button. Now the ice control "arm" wont open/close. The ice is trying to dispense but the pad wont raise.
With the ice door not opening but the dispenser trying to dispense the ice the issue would most likely be caused by a faulty dispenser solenoid which you would want to get part number 12001991. Also check the dispenser control board to make sure that there are no burn marks on it which would cause the solenoid to not work.
The water ice disdenser does not shut off right away. It has to be pushed two or three times to turn off. How do I remove the pad to get at the on-off button for inspection.
Answer Hi Hugh. Remove the spill catcher. Remove 2- screws shown below. Lift up and out of the fountian control assy. The switch is directly behind the black pad. The Limit switch is part # 61005520. The black pad is part # 61003804. Thank you.
Where is this located? And how would this help the fridge get cold?
Answer Hello Steve! The pad actuator 61003804 is located on the dispenser. This is what you put your cup against to fill with water. This part does not assist the refrigerator in getting cold. Thanks!
