Where can I find my model number?

Our dishwasher stopped working last week. When you press the start button it lights up but nothing runs. When you press the cancel button, you can hear it pumping. The buttons light up. We just got ripped off by a company that came over and said we need a new control board (panel). He was only there 3 minutes and it cost us $75. He said it is about a $300 repair (at that price, I would rather buy a new dishwasher). So I came here and saw that the control boards are less than $100. I was wondering if this part above is what I actually need to solve the problem or if it is something more internal that needs repair. Also, is replacing the control board a DIY project? We are pretty handy. Thanks!

Answer Hello Kimberly. You will need to test and see if the door switches 8269209 are bad in the unit. They should read closed for continuity with the latch closed. If they are bad, the lights will come on, when start is pressed, but the washer will not start due to open contacts. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
