Installing control panel. How do you seperate the ribbon cable from the old and insert both ribbon cables into the new connector? Does the connector open?

Answer Hello Don. Yes, there is a locking tab on the control board where the ribbon cable from the panel 8534839 goes into. You will release the locking tab to remove and install the ribbon cable. Once the new cable is installed, you will relock the tab on the control board. Hope this helps.
The cancel and the delay button will both show 2 minutes to drain or delay startup. But none of the other buttons will show any power. Washer was used the day before no problem????????
