Everything works just not heating up, what could be the problem?

Answer Gene, you didn't supply a model number so, if it's an electric dryer, check and make sure both breaker are set and locked in olace and you have 240 VAC to the dryer. remove the back panel and check the heater assembly and thermal fuse, for anopen circuit or wiring problem. If ot's a gas unit, remove the 1X1" plastic inspection cover on the front of the dryer, and observe the ignition process, there should be an orange glow, the glow should fade and the gas released and ignited for a flame. No glow would indicate a damaged igniter or open thermal fuse, no flame would indicate an issue with the gas valve coils or no gas to the valve. Good Luck

Answer Gene, you didn't supply a model number, so, If it's an electric dryer and you're sure youhave 240 VAC at the terminal block, you may have an open heat element or thermal fuse located in the back of the dryer on the right hand side, inlet flume. If it's a gas dryer you cou,ld have a cracked, broken igniter or an open thermal fuse on the burner housing assembly inside the dryer on the base of the dryer. Good Luck and Thanks
