Can you explain how to replace the Control Panel for this dishwasher if I order the part online?

Answer Hello Tracy. Disconnect the power. Remove the 6 screws on the top of the inner door panel and lift off the control panel. Next, you need to remove the control board from the panel. When installing the board onto the new panel, make sure the ribbon cable is installed properly. Install the new panel in reverse order.
I am putting the finishing touches on a kitchen makeover for a customer. New cabinets, countertop, led lighting, garbage disposer, etc. The couple did not replace all appliances such as the fridge & dishwasher. The customer tells me how unsatisfied they are with the dishwasher as it is approx. 18 months old and does not work at all. She told me some lights worked...then press start and nothing. Now no lights at all. The customer had purchased the control board sight unseen. I told her that if it was not the problem that she would probably not be able to return it. Being the nice guy(sucker!) that I am I told her I would look at the unit. I put in the control board and it did not change anything. I am handy and have fixed many devices before. I broke out my multimeter and tested the unit...Found the unit is getting power. Did research on this forum and tested the thermal fuse and the door switch. Thermal fuse has continuity and the door switch has continuity when the little white button is depressed. Not sure really where to go now...will check internal parts of the door latch next...Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated...Thank you!

Answer Vman1, the likelihood of a mechanical failure in the door latch assembly, isn't high at all, since you have power into the unit, and the control thermal fuse W10258275 checks OK, you'll need to use your meter and check for 120 VAC at the tan wire (P8) terminal, and the black /white wire (P6) terminal, to white/blue wire (P2) terminal on the control board (with the door switches activated). They most likely have a faulty keypad on the control panel W10254846and you can check each button/key for continuity, using a multi meter and the tech sheet located on the back of the lower access panel/kickplate.
All the lights on the front will light up, but when you push the start button nothing happens? What part usually needs replaced? Is it the white panel on the outside or the gray electrical unit inside?

Answer Hi. Remove the lower kick panel. :Use the wiring diagram supplied with the unit. In behind the controls or in the storage drawer folded up in a packet. Put the unit into a Field service test to bring up the explained fault code. This shows which specific circuit and devices need checked. Use a volt/ohm meter part # TJMA-DM1 to assist you in your diagnostics. Thank You.
