My whirlpool dryer will not start model gew9868kq2. So I changed the thermal fuse no change. There is current coming to the board so I also changed the electronic board still it will not start. What else can I check?

Answer Help, You will want to check the door switch to ensure that the switch is showing continuity with door closed. If you do not have continuity then the switch is bad and will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. I have a strange question for you that you probably have never got before regarding appliances - specifically in this case clothes dryers. I have a rare medical issue that any time I look at LED lights for even a short time they give me a migraine-like headache that lasts 24 hours. Doctors and opthamologists have not been able to figure this out. So we bought a new $900 LG Gas dryer recently and got it setup to use and then realized that the control panel is backlit by LED lights. I can't use the dryer and will try to return it. My question is this, is there a way to tell when buying a new dryer if it uses a control panel with LEDs? Are there any that are lit with incandescent bulbs anymore that won't give me a headache? I know there are some that are the traditional style with knobs that might work for me. Just wondering if all the electro-mechanical ones are lit with LEDs now. Thanks for your time, Doug

Answer Doug, Most units now have the LED lighting whether in the form of back lights on an led screen or number lights like a digital clock. You may want to just go with a basic model that has knobs. If you are able to look at a digital clock then there are some that have this type of display, which are just numbers.

Answer Hi Lisa. The keypad always should show a ohm reading in switching, Not much but some. Does the ribbon cable show black spots in the cable? Does the pad feel spongy or more physically direct responce when activating? You really do need to replace the panel assy. part # is 3978825. Thank you.
