when i go to start my my maytag quiet series 100 dishwasher i press start the lights come on but nothing happens, then i turn it off and it makes noise like it wants to run. can this be i control panel issue?

Answer Vinnie, You're on track, You most likely have an issue with the keypad on the control panel 6-917726. Faulty keys can make the dishwasher operate irratically. ONLY LIGHTWASH AND RINSE LIGHTS UP AND WHEN I PUSH START THAT LIGHT GOES ON THEN THEY BOTH GO OFF,NOTHING HAPPENS. I DID GET IT TO GO ON BY HITTING LITE WASH AND 2 HR DELAY.HAD TO HOLD LITE WASH DOWN TO KEEP LIGHTS ON. PLEASE HELP,CONTROL PANEL WAS CHANGE OUT 2 YEARS AGO. THANKS

Answer Jaybob, Sounds like you'll need to replace the control panel / keypad assembly 6-917726 again. We'll send you the information you need to test the key pad circuits with a multimeter, so yuou can verify the failure. This time check in the control panel and inner door liner for water marks and condensation, and make sure the exhaust vent tube seals against the foam pad on the inside of the panel.
