Hi, our dishwasher is missing the black panel that goes along the bottom to hide the open access. I think it is just for esthetics, but How do I know if this is the right panel or if I need the "access panel" AP4114150 - which is no longer available. - what is the difference between the two?
Answer Kathy, the toe panel 6-912640 is more than an esthetic accessory. It's there to help keep debris from getting under the dishwasher, and it traps some of the operating noise, and keeps it retained in the cabinet. The lower access panel 6-912640 is more cosmetic, it covers the lower portion of the tub, frame and wires. but also keeps some of the noise trapped in the cabinet as well. There are four screws required to mount the toe plate and the access panel to the frame 6-912366. Place the toe plate in position, then place the access panel in position, then install two screws to hold the access panel in position then align the toe plate and access panel openings and install the two lower screws and tighten all four screws, so the panel doesn't rattle and stays in position.
How is the toe kick attached?
Answer Hello Glenn. The toe panel 6-912640 is attached to the unit with screws 6-912366. Hope this helps.
