Where or what does the spring connect to ?
Reggie for Model Number LA382
Answer Hi Reggie. The 2-1/2" long plunger will inset into the bracket assy. Part # 213718. The spring connects to the small ring tab on this part and to the out -of - balance lever. They all work together in unison sliding back and forth w/the lid to engage the switch to open the contacts in case of a issue. Thank You.
How do I remove the top to install a plunger assy?
Samuel C. for Model Number a7000
Answer Hello Samuel. You will need to remove the two screws in the bottom corners of the front panel. Then pull out on the bottom of the panel and remove the panel from the washer. Next remove the two 3/8 bolts on the front corners of the top assembly. Once removed the top assembly will lift upward to access and replace the plunger assembly 204968. Reinstall in reverse order. Hope this helps.
Washer stops during wash, rinse, or spin cycle requiring opening and re-closing lid to restart. Is the plunger and bracket assembly the problem or should the lid switch be replaced.
Thank you

Answer Hello Samuel. You will need to look and see if the plunger and bracket 204968 is broke or bad on the machine. If it looks good, you will need to replace the lid switch assembly 22001682. Hope this helps.
