The meat probe indicator remains lit on the control panel whether in use or not. Have never used probe. How do you cancel indicator light? We do not have a probe for the oven. DC

Answer Don, A couple of things to check, Make sure the receptacle nut is tight, and the surrounding area is clean of grease, oil and moisture. Use a "QTip" and alcohol and carefully clean the inside of the recepatacle. If the light still remains illuminated, you'll need to lower the control panel and access the control board. Find the P5 connectoron the board, and disconnect the two yellow wires(P5 pin 4 and P5 pin 5) If the light remians on, you'll need to replace the control board. If the light extinguishes and the oven works, you can leave the wires disconnected(you should tape off the ends) and use the wall oven as is.
Is there a universal, more cost effective meat probe similar to this one?

Answer Hello! Unfortunately, there are no cross references available for the meat probe 9755542 that we would be able to suggest. Sorry about that!
When I plug in my meat probe the indicator light does not illuminate on the control panel..I don't know if the probe, or the probe jack is faulty..Is there a way to tell? Thank you

Answer Hello Bill. Remove the jack from the oven wall and see if any wires have come off or are burnt. If the jack looks good, and there is continuity across the terminal of it, you will need to replace the meat probe 9755542. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
