The plastic part that attaches to the motor between the motor and the pulley burned out. This is a brand new motor I purchased in Feb, 2011. Is this common and is the motor under warranty? It also burned up the belt. How do you replace the pulley?
Answer Hello William! The motor pulley W10299847 will include the clear plastic part. If you purchased the motor 279827, if ordered with us will have a one year parts warranty for replacement if the item becomes defective. Your belt part number is 341241. You can get installation instructions from our free repair forum at http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/ . Thanks!

If i am replacing the idler pulley, do i need to replace the plastic nut attached to the pulley motor?
Answer Hello Lebron,
If your model number is LEQ8858JQ1, the plastic thing by the motor pulley prevents the belt from jumping the pulley onto the motor shaft. It is necessary and problems will be experienced without it. It is not available without the complete motor assembly 279827.
