Answer Hello Mike. You will need to remove the tub assembly from the cabinet and flip the tub over on it's top. Then you will remove the pulley system 40047102 to access and check out the brake assembly. Hope this helps.
When I turn this pulley AP4048391 by hand it turns easy counter clockwise but in the other direction it wants to stop.Washer does not want to spin.

Answer Hi Michael. Counter clockwise is agitation. Clockwise is spin. Therefore the brakes have to be released by the brake rotor. The rotor is part # R9900474 The brake pads are part # R0000014. Lift up the top. Remove the tub top cover. Is there any clothing jammed in between the inner and outer tub stopping regular operations? Remove the belt. Rotate the motor and the pump to see if they are working in both directions also. Inspect the brakes and see if they are broken and jammed in the clutch sideways. Thank You.
