HI,The dishwasher started making a loud humming, grinding chattering sound. I'm guessing this was comming from the motor?? Now when I turn it on there is nothing. Only the lights go on in the panel, but no sound or action inside the machine. Did the motor bind up and sieze? If so, is this a an easy part to install? I noticed you need a centering tool or somthing for it. Also, is it even worth buying a new motor for 200 bucks or just replacing the machine? This is a great website, Please help, thanks so much, Tony Galla.

Answer Hello Tony. You will need to test and see if there is power going to the motor assembly when the unit is on. Also, check and make sure nothing has clogged the motor. If power is there and the motor is clear, you will need to replace the motor assembly W10428167. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps.http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
