There is a green ground wire connected to my old defrost timer. It appears to just be connected to the frame of the old timer. There is no place to connect this on the replacement timer. Does the replacement unit not need the ground wire?

When frost builds in the freezer the evaporator fan hums but the fan will not spin. If I flick the blade it will start turning sometimes it takes a couple of flicks to get it going. Any advise on what may cause it?

Latest Questions

This Refrigerator is 37 years old, First break down. Unit frosted up in freezer. I had the Timer replaced but that didn't help. The heat strip has 120 volts on both sides. It does not get hot with the 120 volts getting to it. I checked the Defrost and there is no continuity between the two wires coming out. I think this is a bad one. Since I can't find my model number because of it's 37 years old, what can I replace it with? Will the p/n-2321799 work? Can you help me? Thanks

Hi I am replacing a defrost timer. Does the black wire go on number one or two terminal? It seemed to work better on number one, I switched it to number 2 today to see how it would behave and it seems warmer. Thank you.
