There is a green ground wire connected to my old defrost timer. It appears to just be connected to the frame of the old timer. There is no place to connect this on the replacement timer. Does the replacement unit not need the ground wire?

Hello, I replaced the thermostat, heating element and timer to repair a no defrost situation. Couldn't find a wiring diagram and now the defrost only works when I manually adjust the timer. What is the correct jumper position for my application? Thanks, Tony
