There is a green ground wire connected to my old defrost timer. It appears to just be connected to the frame of the old timer. There is no place to connect this on the replacement timer. Does the replacement unit not need the ground wire?

Latest Questions

I have a top mount Whirlpool refrigerator that I've changed the timer and put the black jumper onto connecter 1. I've noticed the freezer would melt everything and freeze it back up again so I changed the timer again but to a universal one with no jumper. Would this be okay and what does that jumper do and do I need it for this refrigerator or not. Thank you
