Our ice maker is not working. I have water to the refrigerator but when disconnecting the water line running up to the ice maker itself there is no water traveling up. Is there something replaceable that is not allowing the water to travel or do I need to get a complete new unit?
You will want to check the fill tube that comes in through the back wall of the freezer compartment and make sure that it is not frozen. If this checks ok put a insulated jumper wire between the T and H on the icemaker motor module and allow the unit to start a cycle. Once cycle has started then remove the jumper wire. Then using a multimeter, put one lead in the N and lead to V on the module and wait for the arms to rotate to about the 11 to 11:30 position and watch for 120 vac to come on the meter. If there is 120 vac then the water valve is the most likely cause of failure. If no power then the issue would be the icemaker module.
