My Whirlpool gas dry stopped working. When we set the timer and then push the activation switch, nothing happens. I've taken the switch out thinking the switch is bad. The part no. is P.N. 348314. How can I tell if the switch is bad before I order a new one?

I followed your suggestions and even when jumping the relay the motor won't start. The relay is clear and shows no signs of burning out although I did smell a slight burning when the dryer stopped working initially. Could it be the thermostat again or is the motor the problem? Thanks Vincent

The dryer was working fine and then it would not start. I have replaced the burners and thermostat at previous times so it appears to me that this relay could be my current problem. Am I off base?
