My cooktop doesnt work but my oven works. I thought it was the valve solenoid. I put new one and its still the same. It's not calling for gas ? Maybe its the relay?

Answer Hi Tony. Use a volt/ohm meter part # TJMA-DM1 to assist you in your diagnostics. Are the wire connections tight on the solenoid part # 8184768? Did you get the wire terminals twisted tight under the wire nuts ? Are you getting 120 vac to the valve to open it ? The dual gas valve part # W10293048. At the gas valve assembly W10293048 check the resistance from the center terminal to each outside terminal you should have a resistance of 215 ohms on each test. If it is open (o-ohms) or +/- 10% tolerance then replace it. Thank You.
