I need to order replacements for my relay and overload, but couldn't find a match for the model number on my freezer. I was wondering which of these several combination kits would work for me? What are the differences?

Answer Hello Gene. No, there is no reset on the unit. You need to check and see if the thermostat 4-83053-002 is bad and needs to be replaced on the unit. It should read closed when the unit is turned on and is warm inside the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. My compressor relay went bad, but my capacitor is rated at 15 and is only showing 13.5. I went to a local appliance store and they gave me a universal relay / overload. The only way it would work was removing the capacitor. When it started, the compressor got extremely hot. The blogs I read stated this univeral relay was bad about burning up the compressor. My question is,does this new relay work with out the capacitor as well? My overload is fed from the capacitor and I don't see that connection available on this new part.

Answer Hello Jerry. No, the capacitor is not used with this relay overload 819099. However, this one is designed for the compressor and should not burn it out.

This part is a relay and overload assembly. Does it actually replace the two separate pieces I now have on my refrigerator? I believe I have a separate relay and a separate overload device. It does not really look like either of the two pieces I currently have. Kenmore refrigerator 106.8739381.
