My oven is completely dead. I have power to the wall outlet. Do you think it could be the oven control board?
Answer Hello Lee,
This can be a connection such as a wire nut in the junction box or loose terminal block nut, a high limit thermostat, a bad relay board, a bad low voltage transformer, or a bad clock. You will need to troubleshoot the unit with a test meter to see where the voltage gets to and where it stops. When you find the component that voltage enters but doesn't come back out of, you have found the problem component.
My oven shuts off during baking, but once it cools it will turn back on.
This issue sounds like it would be caused by the cooling fan not coming on. If the cooling fan does not come on it will cause the unit to shut down. You will want to check to see if the fan is coming on once the unit gets heated. Should come on at about 155 degrees. If the fan does not come on then test for 120 vac to the cooling fan and if there is power then the fan Y0315453 is faulty and if there is no power then the fan control thermostat 31933001 would be the issue. If the fan is running but the oven shuts down then the issue would be a bad control board Y0309305.
