I tested the AP3037944 start switch like it said. I saw that the bottom two separate wires are for the buzzer. I tested the other three and got no continuity with the switch pushed over and over. I want to make sure I tested it properly. I put the alligator clip on the lower post which was a pink wire, then touched the needle to the other two posts which were blue. I got nothing for either one alone and nothing for them together. I did get continuity for the blue to blue posts. Is the switch bad? It doesn't click. It is just sort of mushy.

Answer Joe, If you read continuity across the Blue wire terminals on the switch, then the start switch is OK. the pink/ black wire terminal to the blue wire terminal (for the blue wire going into the cabinet, to the motor) should be the resistance of the relay in the switch. We take for granted the dryer won't start or run, and your next check should be the non resettable thermal fuse 3392519 located on the blower housing inside the dryer.

Answer Mike, You will want to check the thermal fuses 3392519 which are located on the back of the unit. The fuses should have continuity and if they do not then they need to be replaced. If the thermals are blown you will want to check to make sure that the venting from the blower assembly to the outside of the home is clean as this is the most common reason for a thermal fuse to blow.You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Can you jump the switch to see if it is bad? I have power but the dryer will not start.

Answer Hello Pete. No, test the switch and see if it closes when you press it. If so, it is good. Make sure the thermal fuse and the door switch is good on the unit as well. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Answer Hello Fred. Pull the knob off the switch and unplug the unit. Then remove the screws securing the back panel and remove the back panel. Now release the tab and twist the switch to remove it and remove the wires. Reverse the procedure to install the new switch 3398096.

The on/off switch does not respond. All else seems to work. What else could be broken besides the on/off relay switch?
