The ice maker makes a continuous clicking sound. It only stops when the freezer door is opened. Should I replace the whole unit? is that difficult to do?

The icemaker does not shutoff the water flow when refilling the tray. Water overflows and runs out the freezer door. How can I stop this. I have the icemaker shutoff.

Latest Questions

I recently received the ice maker I ordered under order number 5133753. First and foremost, I want to say thank you for the super fast shipping, I was very happy to receive it as quickly as I did. I installed the replacement ice maker yesterday evening and I've been having a problem with it since it has been installed. The ice maker will make the ice and eject the cubes like it should, but the overflow metal bar will not return to the fully down position. This makes the ice maker think the ice bin is full and it stops making ice. The overflow bar does go down part of the way, but there is something that it seems to be catching on just enough to stop it from returning to the fully down position. I have checked and there is nothing in the way of the bar going down and a slight push on it does return it to the down position where the ice maker will resume its operation but this needs to be done after every batch of ice is dropped. I wanted to see what could be causing this and if there are any tweaks I can do to try and stop this from happening. If not, I would like to see about returning the ice maker for a replacement part. I appreciate any help you can provide and look forward to getting this resolved.
