The ice maker makes a continuous clicking sound. It only stops when the freezer door is opened. Should I replace the whole unit? is that difficult to do?

Adjustment of cubes using white screw...I have it way out of adjustment. Looking at the front what reference can I use and which direction does what to the size of the cubes??? How does it change the cube size...by letting more water in or delay time after the thermostat senses it is time to evacuate the cubes by putting the heater on??? Thank you very much

The ice maker module motor is working observed the wheel and the ejector arm rotate, you can hear the water fill valve actuate and visibly see the water in the poly flow tube move into the freezer but no water in the ice tray. Removed the ice maker and checked the fill cup no blockage. Had replaced the fill valve 2 weeks ago and it worked until the other day any suggestions. Thanks

Ice Maker Mechanism Getting Stuck. For many years we have had a problem with our icemaker getting "stuck" and not proceeding with ejecting the cubes. I am alerted to the situation by slightly more intense clicking sounds from the icemaker than the "usual" presumably normals clicks during the cycle. The (temporary) "fix" for the situation is to open the freezer door and grab the part of the ejector mechanism with the the finger-like projections that sweep the cubes out of the tray and shift it a couple mm along the axis of the rod it rotates on to break free what appears to be a little frozen water that had bound/frozen the sweeper fingers to the rod and stopping the operating mechanism in its tracks. Then everything is fine, usually for the next day or so (at least 4 to 5 ice cube making cycles), at which point it happens again. If I don't go through this routine, the machine will NEVER produce any ice cubes. The ejected cubes are of normal size and not stuck together. On inspection, there is no visible ice on the sweeper arm or rod. There has not been any overflowing of water in the tray and no visible splashing of water from the filler tube onto the sweeper mechanism (although that is what I suspect may be happening). The refrigerator is appropriately tilted back for door closure (placing a level on the top of the refrigerator box shows the back is 1/2 inch below the front). Have you run into this situation before? Ultimately, what is the solution that will work? Is there a simple solution such as using a dab of silicone caulk or a piece of plastic to shield the end of the rod near the filling tube OR will I have to get a new replacement icemaker, recognizing that may possibly not solve problem of the water presumably getting to the sweeper/rod junction and then freezing the two together and then straining the operating mechanism again, requiring my never ending manual assist? (At least that is a lot easier than filling ice cube trays at the sink!) Thank you
