Whirlpool Cabrio - I have a washing machine that sounds like it has gears slipping during the spin cycle. What is the most likely cause? I think it is this part (http://www.appliancepartspros.com/whirlpool-rotor-280146-ap3882831.html) but several people mention bearings. Is there a positive way to tell one way or the other? Thank you!
Answer Rick, The rotor would not be the issue, a faulty rotor would not allow the washer to run, and or could make a "knocking" noise, with little to no agitator or basket movement. The "slipping gears" noise and the noise in the spin cycle, would indicate a worn out set of tub bearings and seal W10435302 and tool W10447783 you may also want to consider an outer tub assembly W10193886 which would have all the parts you need installed at the factory.
Got a F-50 error code....replaced wiring harness and rps sensor, thinking it was the sensor. No Luck still receiving the f-50 error code, Any suggestions?
Answer Hello Kim. F then 50 flashes when the motor rotor
position sensor (RPS) senses no rotation.
? Does basket turn freely? If not, clear the obstruction. If it does, then you will need to order and replace the board if the wire harness and the rps sensor is new.
