When replacing the seal (AP4024732) do you recommend replacing the ring as well?
Answer Hello Jerome,
Unless it has a lot of mold and bacterial build-up on it that it will not clean up or the part is otherwise damaged, it is not necessary to replace this part.
Which direction should the groove in the gasket face, against the lower tub lip, against the upper tub side, or against the clamp ring?
Answer Barkingdog, When you install the tub cover seal 211232 the groove in the saeal should face UP(so you can see it) then install the clamping ring. A quick note : make sure there is a 3/8 to 5/8 inch gap between the top of the spin tub and the bottom side of the tub cover, the tub can contact the bottom of the cover and not spin. Good Luck and Thanks
I innstalled a new seal , with new bolts on the ring, but find it leaks when draining & spinning. What did I do wrong?
Answer Hi Ralph. You would need to replace the complete ring assembly, part # is 200846. The bolt and the worm cut of the ring wears out with the tightness of the bolt thread "teeth" together . Thank -You.
