Hello. My front load whirlpool washer recently started shaking violently during the spin cycle. Inspection of the shocks displays signs that they're bad, they all have grease accumulated at the end of the shock plunger. After reading some of the questions asked in the past I stumbled across a few that suggested the tub be checked, if it spins free but moves the tub might need replacing. Can you please explain what type of movement you are referring to. My wash tub spins freely. However, it does have a bit of movement towards the shocks, not much but it isn't completely stationary. How much rotational play should there be if any . Thanks, Alex.

My washer shakes badly when a load is present. I have removed the botttom panel and seen some grease like substance on one of the shocks. Would this be a safe bet to replace the shocks? What exactly is meant if tub spins freely when turning the tub?

I just got done replacing my bellows and I noticed the 3 shocks inside of my unit. It seems like an odd design to only have 3 especially when there are holes for 6 total 3 per side. On one side there is something blocking one of the shock holes but on the side with one shock there are 2 open holes was wondering if it would help to reduce vibration by adding at least 1 more shock so that there is 2 on each side?
