How difficult would it be to replace the dial? Could I do it myself?

Answer Hello Cindy. These are easy to replace. The center of the timer knob pops out. Behind the center is a clip you will need to remove. Once removed, the knob, spring, and skirt dial 22001265 pulls off. Reinstall in reverse order. Hope this helps.
