After replacing the water filter, dispensing of water is slow and has no pressure, what is my problem? Thanks
Answer Hello Calvin,
You will most likely have to replace the water filter housing W10350063 since it has a valve made in it that the filter actuates and it has proven to be an issue with this model.
When I replaced my factory water filter for the first time with a W10295370A, the door to the interior filter holder barely closed, but the filter fit. For about two months the filter worked fine except that it would occasionally pop out and I'd have to re-close the holder's door. Today, however, it began popping out every time I'd try to dispense water. Push the dispenser and "POP!"; open the door, and there'd be the filter hanging half-way out of the holder. Every time. The worse part is that it doesn't dispense water, and I doubt it's making ice now, either. Would a replacement filter solve the problem or is there something else wrong?
Answer Joe, As long as you're installing the correct filter W10295370A properly, you should be fine. But if the filter continues to remove itself from the housing, that's what will need to be replaced W10572864. The locking mechanism is damaged and not locking the filter in position. This should not affect the operation of the ice maker, it's a semi separate system. With the filter partially engaged, the internal bypass is engaged and the water will not flow through the filter and housing, so there'd be no water to the tank or dispenser..
